I was going to go shopping today...
...i never made it.

The main reason is that it was stiflingly hot. I am nervous about Brisbane weather...but resolute that i will go, adapt, and live up north with Marko.

So it's been a good day of resting, nourishing food, more resting, abit of documentation work...
...yeah, yeah, yeah...so i spent the day flat on my back slacking off instead of xmass shopping, so sue me, it's f#ckin' hot here! There is that "sunlight" stuff everywhere too...i'm not used to that at all.

If you can't go out because it's a bit hot... however will you manage Brisbane?

It's like 30 outside and 35 in here 'cos this place is a "brick oven" (it's nickname.

...oh. So...if i had left the 35 deg room, made a trip in 30 deg and that "sunlight" crap...got on a stinkin' hot tram...i could have mooked about in the airconditioned shops and malls of the city all day.

...DAMNIT i work this out now?
Grr...and this flat is still roasting hot inside.

I'll manage brisbane's heat by a combination of willpower, aclimatization and nakedness...

Jesus, all of you people moaning about the weather need to move to the Canadian tundra! You'll love it: With snowdrifts up to your balls, you certainly won't be complaining about heat!

Give me 30 degrees, blazing sun, and even a touch of humidity ANY time.

Want 90% humidity with that?

The wind this morning made it feel like -20C. I waited in the car as long as I could before joining the rest of the freezing crowd at the train platform on my way to work.

Tonight it's comfier. A comfortable -2C.

And there's no snow yet. And it's still fall here in Quebec. ;-)

But you're right: Melbourne and Brisbane can be f^$%*ing hot!! I'd never live there without air con!!!

it was far too hot. don't blame you for not going out. speaking from experience it's a different kind of heat in QLD. when i was there last year it took about a week to acclimatize (it also helped that the air con units were industrial strength at the site i was on).

hope it's not like this on my wedding day.
