The police probably received a complaint, likely worded more strongly than what actually happened, so they had to investigate. Least they were smart enough to quickly realize it was nothing.

Yes, this once no charges were pressed.

I am scared to go shopping sometimes incase someone thinks I glanced at a child or a woman. An accusation I am a pedo in the first case or planning rape in the second...the accusation is proof of guilt nowadays.

My ex-bf (gay since puberty) had charges of stalking and sexual-harassment filed against him by a coworker after he was promoted instead of her. His defense lawyer told him it was a common blackmail technique, he either accepted the plea-bargain she offered or his name would be publicized and ruin his reputation. She made him accept a restraining order then ran to work to show it to the boss and demand he be fired because he couldn't work there and stay 500m away from her, then demanded to get the promotion. Luckily the boss said that he had a legitimate reason for coming to his place of employment and told the schemer that if she made an issue of it she would be the one who was fired because the charges were bogus.

There's more to reputation than what's publicized. If I were he, would've been no deal. And I'd have filed countersuit.

But it's common.

There's stories of fathers who are unwilling to let their children have friends over unless either the mother is present or the other child's mother comes as well...because people assume adult males alone with children is always a risk.

I heard of one instance where a father feared what one set of neighbours would accuse him of while his wife was away on buisness so he asked his other neighbours to house-sit and baby-sit and he stayed in a motel while she was out of state.

I am sure that this sort of accusation is relatively rare, but if it happens to you then usually your reputation, innocence and parenting rights are finished. This story is a rare exception that the male didn't get punished for his gender.

But, yeah. Ridiculous.

You know what's funny, all parents are guildty of child porn.

I'm sure everyone's mom has a picture of them, as a child, in some various stage of disrobing or in a tub.

I guess we better put all the parents in jail now.

What annoys me most is the revenge is targeted against people that weren't the oppressors. I have been brought up with the news demonizing males as sexual predators and the media portraying males as stupid comedic buffoons and always strictly inferiour to any female character in the ad or show...

And if there is a backlash then the whole thing will be pointless, wasted decades and generations filled with resentment.

I want equality. -_- I hate being treated like a threat and an inferiour, and I never did anything to deserve being treated like 'the enemy'.
