I forget why, but I must obey any meme with a friend naming me...
Post 10 Weird and Random facts about yourself, then at the end of the list, tag the names of 5 people who are next in line to do this:
1) I am a dual citizen. I have two passports. Yay for being born in fortuitous birthplaces.
2) I took a 'leap of faith' at the start of the year and moved two states north. Instead of causing problems and disruptions, all sorts of issues and problems in my life have been resolved and the different parts have fallen into place. I not only landed on my paws (and beside my beloved matemarko_the_rat) but my life has sorted itself out in the last year.
If that was ever made public...i'd be booted off LiveJournal for my insufficient angst rating. So SHHH! Don't tell anyone...
3) I didn't fall in love or lose my virginity until the age of 24. What a loser eh? ^_^
I just had no interest in that sort of thing until after I finished my studies.
4) I have worked on three continents. Australia (where I have lived most of my life) was the last of those three where I got a job.
I have had three trips (all expenses paid!) to Germany and worked as a professional/consultant engineer doing environmental engineering/science and bioremediation (translation "using science to clean contaminated land"). After that I was sent to Sao Paulo in Brazil to take water samples and do some other tests to finish off the project there.
After working as an international consultant, I came back to Australia...and had a nightmare of a job all last year. Minimum wage, hairnets, overalls, toxic goop, high velocity heated metal bolt-shots, steam heated 7 foot long 3 foot wide metal drums, fucktard supervisor, 10 hour work days and over an hour commute each way, no budget for tools or expenses...yup, all sorts of suckieness.
It was only after that 'leap of faith' that I got a decent job in this country.
Seriously...international experience and a publication under my belt and I had to do a year of entry level work for work experience before I could get my foot in the door in the profession I trained for at university? What's wrong with this picture?
5) I have been shot at on three seperate occasions during 2004. At no time was a gun involved. Go figure...
6) I think six is a special and lucky number.
7) I can't explain it, but I seem to have a lot of influence over the weather. Specifically rain and storms and cloudcover. Not full control but 'influence'.
I think I am too sane and too scientific to fully believe it...(yet).
8) I have bought more devices that can play CD's than I have bought music CD's.
9) This one is TMI. :P
Rest assured it is very weird and those not in the know would probably find it shocking!
