I really should post here more.
Like the heading says, I really should post here more.
Ironically since becoming unemployed in mid October I have not used social media much, and I suppose that's because there's far fewer 'reactionary' posts and rants due to less interaction with coworkers and other sources of 'inspiration'.

Notwithstanding the *cough* joys of unemployment (I've been there several times - I seem fated to land amazing jobs, only to have them vanish from beneath me when the project's cancelled or the company dies. At least on this occasion, I know the contract's ending late this year, though there might be the prospect of a new contract, if the outcome at this stage turns out promisingly enough), I'm sure your life isn't as neutral and lacking in wonder as to be vacant of ponderings worth sharing, be it some magnificent view you happened upon one day, or a culinary experiment that turned out particularly well (or badly =:), or a good gathering of friends.
Still, then, no news on the employment front? Damn, that's rough. The part I'm least fond of (okay, aside from the lack of money) is the way so many applications simply go unacknowledged - that you feel as if you're not even in the running, not even given an opportunity. *sigh*
All I can offer, by way of coping, is:
(1) be sure to maintain a balance of optimism when applying. It's reasonable to expect nothing will come of it, but, that mustn't defeat the hope that it may do so, as it inevitably will.
(2) if there's some hobby you can really throw yourself into, do so. ^_^ During last year's spell of unemployment, I found my wildlife photography to be a very comforting and rewarding channel of creativity, giving me something of a sense of accomplishment.
In any event, it's good to know you're alive and well. I'd been wondering what had become of you. ^_^;
