^%$&ing cold.

I have a ^%$&ing cold...math-dammit! Darwin's eternal wrath upon whoever plagued me...and by that I mean the unusual cold-snap we had recently. (Sniffle-sniffle). Cursing as an atheist is so difficult too...
...anyway it's Sunday so I can stay here rugged up and keeping hydrated and all that stuff.

Yesterday was a big day for Marko, and while he was having ratty adventures at the gay pride parade I was keeping up the geek-quotient of our lives by hosting a role playing game. Exalted to be precise.

Anyway I am very proud of him and he documented his adventures in his LJ.

Our pet rat is recovering well from his operation Thursday-before-last and is half way through his three weeks with stitches in before he needs a new appointment to have them checked and removed. I am a bit of a purist when it comes to stitches, I am not fond of these dissolving ones. The rat has dissolving stitches but I would prefer good old fashioned stitches that don't fade away.

Oh, and it's really cold here today, unpleasantly cold. Everyone feel free to remind me of that when summer rolls around and I am b$tching about the heat and humidity.

Ristin, you are supposed to be an ex-Victorian. You need to come down here for a few days and remember what cold means. Let alone try countries with snow. Bah.

I liked Germany in winter actually. Down in Melbourne and in Germany we had architecture and clothing suited to the climate. Well, in Melbourne you had clothing for all climates and needed to change ever 5 to 10 min. Germany I liked for the long consistent cold...you always knew what to expect.

Cold here in Brisbane is rare and most of my cold weather gear is back at my family's house in Melbourne.

Also (at least) one of the nine guests we had over this weekend had a cold but came anyway, so that could be the source.
